Built a better life for my family.

Painter Monique Gutierrez found her opportunity for a better life through Chicago Women in Trades.

I knew after having my first child that I wanted a good life for her and me. I had to do something to better our lives. Getting into debt from college loans was not an option. I Googled the trades and found CWiT, I learned that it’s possible for a woman to do a nontraditional job and make a good living. I love what I do and being a part of the union. I’ve had two more children while working in the painting trade. I’ve worked hard for my family; we have securityand independence.
