Confident in my career.

Vickie Svoboda, an electrician, gained the tools for success in her career at Chicago Women in Trades. Vicki saved the life of a fellow IBEW member. In recognition for her prompt and steady actions, she is the recipient of the 2017 IBEW Local 134 Life Saving Award.

Being in the trades has changed my life. I love going to work. I’m excited and engaged daily. I no longer dread the 9 to 5 for less than it cost to raise a family. Being an electrician has given me the capability to take care of my children and give them a better life. CWIT gave me the tools and confidence to succeed. I’m so proud to be union strong!
