Resolving Complaints or Grievances
Chicago Women in Trades is committed to providing a positive learning environment. If you experience any concerns during your training, we want to hear from you and will work together to find a solution. All grievances are handled with strict confidentiality and professionalism.
We encourage you to follow these steps to help us address any concerns:
Start with a conversation: Your first action should be to discuss the problem or situation with your instructor or a relevant program staff member. Many concerns can be resolved through an open discussion.
If the initial discussion doesn’t fully address your concerns, you may submit a Grievance Form, which should describe the situation, any steps you’ve taken, and any remedy you are seeking.
Submit the Grievance Form to CWIT’s Program Director, who will arrange a meeting with you. The Program Director will work with all parties to help find a satisfactory resolution.
If further review is needed, the Program Director will elevate the matter to CWIT’s Executive Director, who will review all the actions taken and make a final attempt to resolve the situation.
