Bathrooms, Periods and Breastfeeding While Working in Construction

PA 104-0850 (SB 3465) provides clean, private, and equitable health accommodations for tradeswomen and all workers who menstruate or express milk on Illinois construction sites.

Starting January 1, 2027, construction sites in Illinois will have new requirements in place to support workers who menstruate and those who are breastfeeding. This law, known as PA 104-0850, was signed on August 21, 2026, and applies to all construction employers statewide.

To help everyone understand the new regulations, we’ve created two fact sheets—one specifically for workers and another for employers.
