Take Action on HR 161

House Resolution 161

The Trump administration is attacking critical initiatives that promote equal employment opportunity and ensure that construction jobs are available to tradeswomen and all qualified workers. The State of Illinois must affirm its commitment to expanding workforce opportunities to all individuals who wish to pursue high-quality careers in the trades.

Tell your state representative to co-sponsor House Resolution 161, which calls on the state to adopt strong policies to protect workers from harassment and discrimination and to take action to create equal access to job opportunities and respectful, safe and accountable worksites.

Tell Your State Representative to Support Illinois Tradeswomen

Despite representing nearly 50% of the workforce, women make up less than 5% of those working in the construction and building trades. Under the new Trump Administration, initiatives to increase access to high-wage construction trade careers are under attack, and we’re calling on the Illinois General Assembly to fight back by supporting House Resolution 161.

If you couldn’t join us for the Tradeswomen Take Over Springfield advocacy day, you can still contact your Illinois Representatives and encourage them to co-sponsor House Resolution 161.
